Sifu Bruce is known as the “Defender” of the school and is the most senior student of Sifu Richard Chow. Bruce was the first student to achieve the rank of Sifu under Richard Chow. He is currently a Vice-President for the CCKSF (Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu Federation), an organization dedicated to promoting Chinese Martial Arts in Canada.
Background
Bruce began his Martial Arts training in 1986 in the art of Hung Gar Kung Fu, followed by over 15 years of training in Lama Pai and Choy Li Fut. In 1994, Bruce also began training in the Fut Gar style of Kung Fu. Bruce was awarded the Rank of Instuctor under Richard Chow in 1993.
Accomplishments
After the 2001 National tournament, Bruce was retired from active competition by the CCKSF tournament directors. Sifu Kinney is still a regular performer in CCKSF’s Masters of Kung Fu shows and is active as a judge in national level Kung Fu tournaments.
